  • Lakes Entrance is renowned for its beautiful beaches, friendly locals and fresh seafood. If you've come for a relaxing stay you'll find everything you need within arms reach. Please enjoy the books and board games and Netflix - but let’s be honest. Your going to be spending most of your time either in the tub on one of the decks. Soaking in all that our floating paradise has to offer, listening to our specially curated ‘Idle’ playlist on Spotify or ITunes. If at some point in your stay you do feel like crossing back over your gangway and returning to the real world, you will find an onboard guide that holds all the tour guides and maps to our beautiful region including where to drink and explore. There is a welcome booklet provided which showcases everything we love about the area, places to eat, things to do and everything in between. A few early recommendations within close proximity to us are:

Breakfast & Coffee: Albert & Co. Across the other side of the road, you will find this Melbourne-inspired cafe, serving coffee, fresh pastries and an array of breakfast choices!

Dinner: Sodafish. Turn right at the end of the jetty, walk 300m and you will hit Sodafish. Opened by renowned head chef, Nick Mahlook, this predominantly seafood restaurant is high quality and serves fresh seafood straight from the local trawlers.

Wellbeing: Koho Sauna (Our sister business). Located on the same vessel, Koho Sauna is a wellbeing experience that focuses on hot/cold therapy. Guests alternate between a wood-fired sauna and an invigorating dip in the Gippsland Lakes. Your can check their website for availability and 20% off a private sauna booking for our guests!

  • As soon as you get to Idle you are immediately sad as you realise you have leave too soon and you don’t want to. It’s stunning. Tom and Nephelle are amazing. Already booking our next stay. You won’t regret this it’s where great memories are made - Lauren

Such an incredible, unique experience like no other. The photos just don’t do it justice. The retro furnishings and every tiny aspect of the home are unique and high quality; from the mermaid door handle to the Gucci wallpaper and cloud like beds. Walking distance to everything you need, but you won’t want to leave this floating sanctuary anyway. Highly recommend; I’m already planning my next stay! - Kate

Overall staying at Idle was a rejuvenating experience, full of laughs, water and good times!Idle Lake House is the ultimate holiday destination! Situated right on the waterfront of the Gippsland Lakes, this unique floating house will have your crew having the time of their lives. We loved swimming to our hearts content, relaxing on the deck, enjoying some drinks and chats, listening to tunes on the record player and just overall having an excellent time in each others company, in such an idyllic space. The retro interior also added to the fun, summery vibe- Lisa
